On June 18, 2025, a bilateral meeting with the delegation of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar was held during SPIEF-2025.
The event was attended by the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Transport and Communications of Myanmar Mya Thun Oo and the Minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations of Myanmar Dr. Kan Zaw.
RKS-NR LLC was represented at the meeting by Deputy General Director for Development Marat Islamov.
The parties discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade, energy, infrastructure projects and labor migration.
One of the most important items of the agenda was the discussion of the implementation of projects in the Dawei Special Economic Zone: the construction of a deep-sea water port and a coal-fired thermal power plant with a capacity of 660 MW. RKS-NR LLC is acting as the technical customer for the port construction project.
"Cooperation in the Dawei SEZ is a key area of our relations. I am confident that joint projects will open up new prospects for the economies of both countries," said Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov.
“In February 2025, within the framework of the Fifth Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, a memorandum on investment cooperation in the Dawei Special Economic Zone was signed, which officially launched the deep-water port construction project. The team of RKS-NR LLC, together with our Myanmar partners 24Hour Group, is currently taking all necessary steps to successfully implement this project, which is important for both countries,” comments Marat Islamov.
